About Jim "Mad Dog" Mandich

Your host, Jim "Mad Dog" Mandich, has had an illustrious career that has been centered around South Florida. Jim graduated from the University of Michigan in 1969 where he was an "All American Tight End" for the Wolverines. He was drafted by the Miami Dolphins in the first round and played eight seasons with the Dolphins including the 1972 Undefeated Team. After winning two Super Bowls with the Dolphins and one with the Steelers he made South Florida his permanent residence. Jim "Mad Dog" Mandich is now starting his 14th Season as Color Analyst with the Miami Dolphins. He also hosts his radio show each day from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Sports Radio 560 WQAM.

Since his early days in South Florida, Mandich has been drawn to the Florida Keys and it's lifestyle. He is an avid fisherman and maintains a weekend home in the Keys and he can usually be spotted holding court at the bar of his restaurant Ziggie & Mad Dog's in Islamorada. Jim, along with his wife Bonnie are involved with several charities throughout the local community, one of which is Shake-a-Leg. This is where the Mad Dog Mandich Fishing Classic will donate a portion of the tournaments proceeds to benefit and help to grow this worthwhile project.
